The second sibling (kalam) is a representation of the forces that distract: It is common to find comfort in the notion that we are in control of our own actions and narratives, yet within us all exists a voice untamed. A devilish whisper yearning for its own will; fueling the ego, yielding to pleasures, opening the self to voices outside - like a small hissing leak in a shapely balloon. Negative associations to this whisper negate its role in our journey through life, yet embracing it is dangerous for its tongue is laced with poison.
